Maria Djugum

Maria is a social worker with over 20 years' experience across disability, hospitals, youth mental health and out-of-home care. She started in disability while studying, then spent a decade at headspace Geelong supporting young people and families with mental health concerns.

After time as a social worker in a hospital setting and a coordination role with McKillop Family Services, Maria returned to headspace, where she spent the past 5.5 years in leadership - supporting teams and strengthening services. She has since returned to the disability sector, where her passion lies, in supporting people to live the best version of their lives, with choice, independence and dignity.

Outside of work, she’s outnumbered by two busy boys, a dog, a cat and the gorgeous kittens she fosters through Geelong Animal Rescue.
