InLife joins NDIA pilot exploring quality and value in Supported Independent Living
InLife has been selected to take part in the NDIA’s Quality Supports Program Supported Independent Living pilot, contributing its experience supporting people with frequent and complex support needs.
The NDIA’s Quality Supports Program is part of the Agency’s work to ensure NDIS participants can access quality and value-for-money services. The program includes several pilots focused on different NDIS supports, with selected providers working with the NDIA to better understand quality service provision in practice.
We’re 1 of 44 registered providers across Australia taking part in the Supported Independent Living (SIL) pilot. The SIL pilot is focused on building a shared understanding of how SIL supports are delivered, the common challenges providers face in delivering quality support, and new ways of working to address those challenges.
For us, the pilot is an opportunity to help show what goes into high-quality SIL for people with frequent and complex support needs.
InLife CEO David Clarke said we’re pleased to contribute to the pilot.
“InLife was built to support people with frequent and complex support needs. For many of our clients, support is part of everyday life, so quality has to be practical, reliable and built around the person.
“We’re pleased to be part of this pilot because it gives us a way to share what we see every day: the coordination, training, safeguards, after-hours support, local knowledge and team support that sit behind safe, person-led support.
“If we want the NDIS to have a profound and lasting positive impact for participants, the full picture of quality support needs to be understood.”
We provide Supported Independent Living and other disability supports across Melbourne and regional Victoria. We were founded in Victoria in 2015 and work with people who often need frequent, complex or high-intensity support.
Learnings from the SIL pilot will contribute to the NDIA’s review of current NDIS pricing models and future pricing approaches, as part of its work to ensure participants can access quality and value-for-money services.
